About Ms. Mac

 

My name is Brooke Macdonald and I am the Librarian and Tech Contact at North Myrtle Beach High School.

I was an English teacher for ten years and have been a librarian for the past twelve. I received my BA in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and my MA in Library Science from the University of Colorado, Denver. 

My favorite book is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. In it, firemen don't put out fires. They start them. Their job is to burn books, all books. And they all do so with a passion. That is, until one fireman begins to question everything he has known to be true for his whole life. Bradbury is a wonder with words and this frightening commentary on censorship leaves one full of both sadness and hope.
