Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, I've had the opportunity to call many places home thanks to life as part of a military family. Before entering education, I worked in psychology and taught service members at Kaneohe Bay and Quantico Marine Corps bases, helping them improve their ASVAB scores so they could achieve their military career goals. Watching people overcome educational challenges inspired me to trade psychology for the classroom, where I've been passionate about helping students reach their full potential ever since.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. My husband and I have five amazing children and eight wonderful grandchildren. Our entire family has deep roots at North Myrtle Beach High School—my husband and all of our children are proud NMBHS graduates, and all of our grandchildren attend schools in the North Myrtle Beach attendance area. Around our house, we like to say we're building the next generation of Chief Legacy! We're also proud to continue our military connection through our son, who serves in the U.S. Army.
When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me out on the water with my family, soaking up the sunshine and making memories. And on Saturdays in the fall? You'll definitely catch us cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks—unless Army is playing, because then it's Go Army! Beat Navy! I'm thrilled to be part of the Chief family and honored to serve the community that my own family proudly calls home.
